Business Agility & Reliability – Your Competitive Edge

Strategic Alignment and Delivery

Core Consulting Group’s (CCG) advice is specifically designed to help organisations improve their business agility and reliability. We help organisations conceive and deliver their portfolio of change with absolute strategic alignment and increased efficiency.

We leverage emerging approahes along with the best of conventional methods, so our customers achieve the best value possible from their portfolio of change initiatives, projects and programs. We adopt the best of Lean Portfolio Management, Scaled Agile framework (SAFe), PRINCE2, Managing Succesful Programs, PMBOK and BABOK so our customers can benefit from an approach that best suits their organisation and strategy. Our approach focuses on people over process, innovation over compliance and business agility over individual reward. We encourage organisations to pragmatically leverage both new ways of working and traditional delivery approaches to suit each situation.

As specialists in PMO Consulting, we help PMO’s transition from conventional functions to adopt aspects of Lean Portfolio Management and Value Management with capability to support the organisation through a period of transition.

We embrace the importance of leadership, culture and habits in achieving real sustainable change and work with teams across the organisation to align cultural norms, strategy and operations. We work hands on, coaching teams and delivering change. We help our customers embrace these new ways of working, and where appropriate blend them with other approaches.  We support customers in their transition towards effective Business Agility, whether pursuing end to end agile, conventional delivery or Bimodal ways of working.

CCG understands governance – the key ‘should we?’ decisions – at team, initiative, project, program or portfolio level. We can advise on implementing and improving governance, in existing environments and those engaging with Lean Portfolio Management and New Ways of Working.

Planning and Enablement

CCG advises customers on effective planning approaches. Whether planning in an multi year or annual context, a quarterly business review (QBR) context, a Program Increment (PI) context or team level, our pragmatic approach ensures those that are involved understand the planning approach and play an effective role in achieving the best possible plan.

Effective combinations of culture, behaviour, techniques, and tools contrbute to achievable planning and delivery.

We understand the complexity of ideation, alignment, scoping and planning, especially how that relates to capacity, funding and delivery effectiveness. Much of our emphasis is placed on helping organisations define the ‘what’, ‘how’, and ‘when’ as well as determining key dependencies, capacity requirements, and cost estimates.

CCG places a strong focus on determining how best to ensure teams work effectively, providing reliable information on completed and remaining work.

Tool selection, implementation, and optimisation

As outlined in our Tools pages, CCG is an expert in Enterprise Project Management (EPM) tools as well as Work Management Tools (Agile Tools) and BI based reporting and analytics tools.

We help customers establish their tools to enable delivery efficiency. We guide customers to a pragmatic view of those things that help effective delivery and those that dont.

We also advise on optimisation strategies where clients may have a toolset but it is poorly implemented and/or utilised.  We are honest in our opinion. Our objective is to make the tool an effective enabler for the customer, not a mini industry in it’s own right.

Outcome: A way forward

All CCG’s advisory services are designed to provide you with insight and a clear path forward. CCG will provide clarity and independent opinion to enable the organisation to see and agree the way forward.
