Core Consulting Group (CCG) was engaged by one of Australia’s largest Telecommunications providers. Our client offered a range of services as well as providing core network infrastructure. They had a complex Access Governance project and needed an experience Project Manager. Their Security Operations team had limited experience with managing large projects and did not have the required project management skills and experience in-house to confidently “manage” the project.
A member of the Security Operation Management team had been on a Steering Committee for another project and was impressed with our Project Manager. They recommended that our Project Manager be engaged to manage the Access Governance Project. Responsibility for delivering the technical solution was outsourced to a 3rd party vendor so one of the key responsibilities of the Project Manager was to ensure the quality and scope of the vendors’ deliverables was in line with expectations.
CCG were able to bridge the gap and provide the project management, governance and support skills required to manage the project, providing confidence to the Steering Committee and sponsor. Our client benefited from seeing a well-run project, providing the benchmark for future projects in the group. More importantly they were freed up to concentrate on their core function of protecting company’s information security.
Key elements of the solution included:
- Project Planning and Controls
- Contract Management
- Project Management
- Project Governance
