Core Consulting Group (CCG) was engaged by one of Australia’s leading telecommunications and information services companies. They are continually building and improving technology and content solutions. A Program was established to deliver a new API and Microservices capable platform to enable a fully digital customer experience for their NBN Customers – order to activate, billing and assurance.
The Program required an adaptable PMO to support a blend of sequential (Waterfall) governance and funding approaches within the context of an Iterative (Agile) way of working. The program needed to scale from a handful of “Swat team” members to a large team of approx. 600 people with a capital spend of approx. $145M over 18 months.
CCG was selected to guide and manage the development of the PMO capability including; financial controls, progress, performance and risk reporting, resource forecasting and on-boarding including accommodation management. CCG also automated consolidated scheduling & reporting incorporating Jira progress information with more tradition project progress and status information. As a result, the program was provided with an end to end view of project and delivery team performance.
Our client benefited from the blend of a flexible yet robust PMO, on a highly complex and difficult scaled Agile program attempting many “firsts” for them.
