Core Consulting Group (CCG) was engaged by one of Australia’s leading Utilities companies to provide an independent view of their maturity across several practice areas including Project Management, Business Analysis and Change Management. The review also looked at the organisations readiness to operate in a Bimodal delivery environment, covering traditional Waterfall Delivery, Agile Delivery and combinations of both. The practices area needed to establish a baseline maturity assessment to measure the planned improvements over the coming twelve to eighteen months.
The organisation had conducted an internal self assessment of capability and maturity in some areas. However, they felt an independent assessment would provide a clearer picture of current status and help to identify the areas of improvement that would offer the greatest benefit in improved delivery results.
CCG leveraged the P3M3 Maturity model for Project Management Maturity, IIBA (BABOK based) model for Business Analysis, the PROSCI Model for Change Management and our own Bimodal Assessment model for Bimodal Readiness. The assessment included a desktop review as well as interviews across a broad spectrum of resources. The report provides a very clear assessment across all practice areas and a clear roadmap of change required to achieve the intended twelve month target.
The management team accepted the report and agreed the prioritised target items.
