Core Consulting Group (CCG) was engaged by one of Australia’s leading telecommunications and information services companies. They offer a full range of telecommunications and internet services, competing in markets throughout Australia and overseas.
Continually building and improving their technology and content solutions, our client established a company wide program of work to govern the optimisation and delivery of Digitisation Initiatives across multiple Business Units. The scope and objectives of the 3 year Program were significant, seeking to transform the customer experience along the way while delivering a new digital capable architecture, platforms and future ways of working. The program was delivered through a blend of Agile and traditional ways of working.
The program needed the ability to understand the dependencies between business units to deliver their initiatives and drive success. This was then extended to include any dependency that had potential to put program benefits at risk, an approach focusing on outcomes rather than deliverables.CCG was selected to establish the dependency management capability because of our understanding of Bimodal delivery environments (where there are blends of traditional waterfall together with Agile/Iterative) and their ability to facilitate a shared capability across all Business Units. We established tools, processes and forums to enable the dependency management function in a cooperative and collaborative manner.
Our client benefited from a “no surprises” dependency management approach that enabled corrective action to be taken in a planned, proactive and controlled manner.
Key Elements of the solution included:
- Dependency Management
- System, Tools and Process Establishment
