Core Consulting Group (CCG) were engaged by one of Australia’s leading technology companies who were known for delivering a portfolio of ICT solutions and services to Customers: large enterprises, small businesses and government organisations. Our Client wanted to build a new service offering that would enable Digital Transformation for their Customers with reduced risk, primarily relating to Enterprise mapping (technology and business process).
Our Client wished to bring together off the shelf tools to manage work, requirements and schedule, tying them together with in an Enterprise mapping tool. An iterative approach was chosen to suit the discovery and innovative nature of the project. Agile SCRUM was adopted as the way of working, with the product owner providing features that clients wanted and prioritising them into the minimum viable product (MVP). The MVP was then trialled with customers to further build out the roadmap and steer the service offering.
CCG was engaged to manage the project delivery, working closely with the sponsor and product owners. The Project Manager led the concept development (using CCG’s Concept of Operations approach), workshopping Features, Program Increment Planning (which drove sprint planning), regular sponsor showcases, daily standups and leadership around ways of working, project team behaviour and culture. The Project Manager used traditional project planning and controls together with HP Octane’s Agile management tool (Kanban, Burn Down, Sprint boards etc).
CCG also provided guidance on the delivery aspects of the toolset to support BiModal delivery (both iterative and sequential delivery lifecycles).
The outcome for the client was a product offering they could take to their clients, providing an increased revenue stream. It established a continuous development team to take the product forward (DevOps capability).
