Our Capability Review and Project Review services begin with an assessment specific to each client objective, ranging from an informal executive-level appraisal through to more formal assessment techniques against recognised standards. We recognise “best practice” as OGC’s Project, Program & Portfolio Management Maturity Model (P3M3), together their Portfolio, Programme and Project Office (P3O) guides. Both OGC and the PMI have many practice guides for managing Projects, Programs, as well as specific aspects of Project Management such as Estimating and Planning/Scheduling. We recognise PMBOK as the basis of Project Management accreditation.
Our Capability Review service is designed to identify organisational capability within Project Management, Program Management and Portfolio Management using the P3M3 model to identify maturity in different areas.
We leverage the P3M3 model to provide a guided self assessment either evidence based or interview based.
“Core Consulting Group were instrumental in helping Toll Corporate IT define the current Project Management Methodology and implementing our current EPM toolset. We would not be where we are today without the support and knowledge of this team of highly skilled and motivated people who are truly as passionate about PMO and the value they deliver to organisations.
On top of that, they developed a mentoring program for Project Managers which was a huge success. This made the Project Office in Toll Corporate IT a great success!!”
Petra Cowled – Project Office Manager
We review specific project standards and controls, together with the PMO’s charter and staffing against recognised industry standards to form opinion as to current and potential capability. Our recommendations for improvement will be practical, pragmatic and useful.
We review your existing project, program and portfolio management systems and tools and how they are used by your teams. We provide recommendations relating to integration as well as process improvements to realise benefits expected from system and assist with user adoption in order to recoup the investment made. We are particularly good at recovering a poorly implemented or used tool.
We conduct reviews of projects and programs for our customers, independently identifying areas of risk as well as opportunities for improvement, providing an assessment of overall “health”. Our focus is on what needs to be done to ensure project success.
Post Project/Program Reviews
We conduct reviews of projects and programs after they are substantially delivered to provide an independent assessment of what went well, what didn’t and what could be improved. The focus is on how to improve the next project and whether or not the benefits were delivered.
