Martin Vaughan


Martin Vaughan has spent his whole career in Project Management. From an engineering/construction start as a Planner/Scheduler, Martin moved into other industries before stepping up to Project Management, Program Management and more recently PMOs. As a manager of a team of Project Managers, as a hands on Project Manager, as a trainer and lecturer, as a tool specialist, Martin has a breadth of experience. Martin is the Managing Director of Core Consulting Group and a Senior Consultant/Adviser/Trainer. During the last twenty years, Martin has established, built and operated successful Melbourne based Professional Services businesses.

Martin’s passion in working with and educating young people has seen him lecturing at University of Melbourne in IT Project Management for five years as well as designing and implementing an innovative Graduate Project Management program. He writes and speaks regularly in various industry forums as well as internal professional development sessions in private industry. His interests include Sailing (ORCV Committee member), Scouts (ex Scout Leader), Classic cars (XU1 Torana) and Not for Profit community support (ex Camcare Committee member). As people say, if you want something done, ask a busy person.

Chris Dwyer

Chris Dwyer started his working life as an Architect in the Building/Construction industry. Chris’ interest lay in Project Management, particularly IT projects so after a stint working in an IT support role Chris moved into planning/controls roles before stepping up into Project Management roles.

Successful in Project Management, Chris moved into Project Management coaching/support roles as well as Business Development and Account Management for Professional Services in IT/Telecommunciations. Chris teamed up with Martin in 2006 to establish Core Consulting Group and has since lead Marketing/Business Development as well as service delivery in the EPM Tool space. Chris also leads up CCG’s practice in Capability Maturity Assessment. Chris consults regularly as well as undertaking hands on Project Management and tool configuration roles from time to time.

Chris is passionate about finding simple answers to complex problems and using knowledge and experience to help organisations grow their capability in Project, Program and Portfolio Management. Chris is committed to ongoing study and recently completed his Masters in Project Management.

His interests include time with the family (while renovating his house), longboard surfing, camping, hiking and Motorcycles (incl a long term restoration of a vintage Harley-Davidson). Chris is also heavily involved with community, as Vice President of the Local Primary School Council and Scouts (Cub Leader).
